In January 2016, Ellen began hosting LadyBoss Meetups in her home, and she felt instantly reinvigorated by the satisfaction of connecting the people she loved and admired to one another. While the original meetups focused on topics related to business and entrepreneurship, she knew that she and all her ladyboss friends needed a break from talking about the hustle. In March 2016, Ellen began to host LadyBoss Clothing Swaps to gather her entrepreneurial friends in a fun way that would also benefit charity. These events were a fabulous way to connect and commune, but they had another huge advantage: Each event generated a full carload of leftover clothing, which Ellen donated to her favorite local cause – a community resource center that collects and redistributes clothing and supplies to local homeless, veterans, and women and children fleeing domestic violence.
